The GMDA Winter Conference will be held January 17-19, 2018 at the Hilton Capitol Center in downtown Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Wednesday, January 17th will start with a few presentations, and then everyone will board busses for a field trip to view the Old River Control Structure and the Morganza Spillway Structure, arriving back in time for a welcoming reception. Technical sessions will be offered on Thursday with the board meeting on Thursday afternoon. Sessions on Friday will last until noon with lunch provided before adjourning. There will be a spouse’s tour on Thursday to Magnolia Mound Plantation and the Louisiana Rural Life Museum with a stop for lunch.

Early registration is $450 for members and $250 for spouses/guests. Registration received after December 15, 2017 is $500 for members and $300 for spouses/guests.

Reservations can be made by calling (800) 955-6962. Guests will need to identify themselves as being with the Groundwater Management Districts Association. Rooms have been blocked off for the nights of January 16-19, 2018.

The rate is $149 per night and the cut-off date for reservations is December 26, 2017. The guest room rates established for the group’s meeting will be offered three (3) days prior and three (3) days after the meeting dates, subject to availability of standard guest rooms at the time of reservation request.

All guest room rates are quoted exclusive of Louisiana state and Baton Rouge local taxes, currently 14%. These taxes are subject to change without notice.

Guest check in time is 3:00pm and check out time is 12:00 noon. All guests arriving before 3:00pm will be accommodated as rooms become available.

Overnight guest valet parking with in/out privileges is $20.00 per day plus tax and is available 24 hours. Day parking 0-4 hours is $5.00, 4 or more hours is $10.00. Rates are subject to change without prior notice, and parking is subject to availability.

If a guest who has reserved a guest room within Group’s guest room block checks out prior to the guest’s reserved checkout date, an early departure fee of $50.00 will be charged to that guest’s individual account. Guests wishing to avoid this fee must advise Hotel at or before check-in of any change in the scheduled length of stay. Hotel will inform members of the Group of this fee upon check¬ in.

All guests will pay their own account upon departure (room, tax, incidentals). When reservations are made, a deposit equal to the room rate and tax for the first night for each reservation will be required. An individual reservation may be cancelled without penalty if cancellation is received by the hotel at least 24 hours prior to scheduled arrival. Upon check¬ in, each guest will be required to present a valid credit card, on which an amount of sufficient pre¬ authorization can be obtained to cover the room and tax charges for the length of the guest’s stay, plus the anticipated use of the Hotel’s ancillary services.
